Assalamualaikum...
Here's a beautiful story about one woman who devoted great love to Allah and Allah granted her the reward of no other woman on earth possess..
Her name is Maryam binti 'Imran. I wrote the following article for the Remembrance of AlQuds day (R.O.Q) and its obviously in Malay..do continue reading...
Assalamualaikum...
Suddenly today I began reading other people's blog..Usually I wouldn't bother reading them..but today somehow dapat ilham from Allah to just keep on reading..and alhamdulillah I read about 5 blogs!
I like reading about other people's 'transformations'. How they were before and how they are now so very different from their usual self. Everything is all the workings of Allah. Subhanallah...How He could easily give hidayah to anyone He chooses..and what a blessing for those chosen ones! Ya Allah place me with those that You bless..Ya Rahman..Ya Raheem..
Its true how they say that when you have something so valuable, don't let it go...Try your best to run after it..never never let it go..as it may not come again...
Goes the same with Allah's hidayah..everytime the hidayah comes knocking on your 'door', dont let it go to waste..
I am still in the process of knowing this beautiful religion. Sometimes I envy those who have no basics at all about Islam and with Allah's will, they recieve this sinar Iman..starting from zero sometimes makes you hold stronger to the thing that you did not get before..
I feel like its harder for those who know alot but seldom do practice the knowledge that they know. Ada apa dengan ilmu kalo tak diamalkan?? Its not that I'm not grateful..for being brought up in a good islamic environment and going to Islamic schools..It's just that sometimes I feel that what's the point of knowing all these things about Islam but don't practice it? Like what Ummi likes to say tak ada penghayatan agama. Benar.
Penghayatan agama comes with knowledge. But with knowledge itself won't do. Need to really selami what you learn..
Learning with the a different kaca mata could really change you 360 degrees! You could see clearly your pathway..why do you learn these stuff...what to take out of what you learn..how do you relate it to the dakwah your holding to...
But sometimes when you're too busy with assignments and stuff..you forget. Just forget. Forgot that those things are just 'side dishes'..They're not your main dish...I keep on forgetting..What have I done?
I pray that the feeling of downess is a booster to wake me up..Wake up Iffah!! Don't let this duniya decieve you..
Living overseas sometimes make you adapt to their culture..I don't want to be like them..too much concentrating on what to wear..and sometimes forgetting why you actually wear what you wear..we should always refresh our soul..refresh our niat..Ya Allah..I am wearing this hijab to cover my aurat..not because it makes me look beautiful or anything..
I'm hoping that reflecting back these teeny tiny things would wake me up. InsyaAllah..
We are here to work..work as hard as we can..for the hereafter is the eternal rest...
Till we blog again..
Assalamualaikum
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wa barakatuh....
Ramadhan is getting nearer and nearer. I never did notice that time would fly that fast. It felt like as if it was just yesterday the beginning of Rejab..then came Sha'aban..and now we're just less than two weeks before Ramadhan! MasyaAllah Iffah!! Have you not notice that the most rewarding month is coming??!! Wake up Iffah!!
This feeling of homesick is getting onto me...Oh how syok Ramadhan was in Malaysia...in KMS...in Bangi...the one thing that drives my emotion now is the feeling of being so close with our Creator..Remember the times when we would sleep in Allah's House? And everyone coming there only wants to fully i'tiqaf in the masjid...Nothing else in mind...Just HIM...
Well..anyway..I'm truly grateful the akak2 here planned for the 'Month of Good Doings'..yup yup yup...the programme is just as the name suggests..its basically for the whole August..I bet the objective of it was to give us some warm-ups before Ramadhan :)
Then the truth reveals itself...jeng jeng jeng..I've just recently started to take note of the list of things I should be doing daily..weekly..monthly...and..then I only realize that I really need self-improving!!
Well..for your information..I'm not that kind of organized person...i describe myself as flexible..having a flexible timetable..which could be good in some ways..but most of the time not so good...sob sob..
So we all had this cute little cards having boxes to tick...and every night before going to bed, I would spare some time doing some memory exercises to see what have I done today...like the song 'What Did I Do Today?' by Dawud Wharnsby Ali..
It turns out to be that it really is hard to maintain akhlaq mulia..not as easy as it seems...practically speaking that is..
Throughout the first 5 days, I've only managed to tick once the box of 'not saying impolite words' such as gile, dowh, poyo etc...Somehow gila seems to be the most exaggerating word one would use nowadays..especially muah...isy isy isy
Oh yeah..another one..mengumpat..how hard is it to abandon this mostly-girls-related act? There always will be times when we'll talk about lecturers..imitate the way they talk...complaining about people in our classes and etc..Sometimes even saying bad things in front of their faces..mentang2lah dorang tak paham..Astaghfirullah...To my surprise, I've met a lot of New Zealanders who could speak and UNDERSTAND Malay! If we were to know that these people could actually understand if we were talking about them, wouldnt we be ashamed of ourselves? What sort of manner is that as muslims? We should be more ashamed with ourselves for Allah knows bits and pieces of our hearts...
Here are some of the lists that we should check daily to make sure that our iman is strengthened:
- Give salam to friends and muslim neighbours upon meeting (the neighbour part doesn't work for me as I have a Denmark n German neighbour..)
- Smile with sincerity to pals n neighbours (now this..I can do!)
- Ziarah to friends' room
- Give useful piece of advice
- No mengumpat
- Not saying impolite words (as mentioned before)
- Helping those in trouble
- Treating visitors to your room nicely
- Make doa for friends n family
- Istighfar and forgive everyone before going to bed...
And the list continues....
You know how they that say that akhlaq mencerminkan peribadi ? true. true.
So the ayat for today :
"Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth exalts Allah and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. O you who have believed! Why do you say what you do no do? Great is hatred in the sight of Allah that you say what you do not do." (As-Saff 61:1-3)
InsyaAllah let's do our best to walk our talk..Ameen
